My cat loves this. He’s been very picky lately, but he relishes this. It looks like it’s in marinara sauce, but I guess it’s the paprika? Well, he likes his sardine goulash! It’s also nice that there are quarter-sized sardine pieces–not too big, not too small.

Is this food acceptable for cats that have urinary issues? It looks like it has a higher moisture (and protein) content than the urinary specific formulated foods. My only thought would be that they have feeding trials and pH tested urine and Tiki Cat probably doesn’t?

Hi! Our food is high in moisture and protein, however our food is not a vet diet so we have not done pH testing on it. We do recommend discussing our food with your vet to make sure it is something your cat will do well on. Send us an email and we would be happy to provide any nutrient analysis you need in helping you make a decision about our food!

My 7 month old kitten only likes fish, especially your tuna and sardines, but I worry about the Mercury found in fish. Is it ok to feed him fish everyday without incurring into Mercury poisoning and health issues?

Hi! Our food is perfectly safe to feed daily to your kitten. Since 2005, We have strictly followed Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program guidelines for Food Safety and Sustainability. All fish are sourced sustainably and tested to ensure there is no mercury or toxins in them before they are hand cut and packed into cans.

I sometimes find small bones in the sardine cutlets- are these safe for my cat to eat?

Hi! Our Grill formulas do contain whole cuts of fish, which includes bones, fins, and other organs. However, we cook our foods for long enough to ensure that these parts are soft enough for your cat to safely eat.

Hi! Our sardines are wild caught world wide by Purse Seining, but we ensure there is no ocean floor dragging to provide an eco friendly food supply. We source our sardines primarily from the Western Pacific and Thailand.

Our rescue can drive us mad with what food he likes today … not with these Sardine Cutlets. He scarfs what is in his dish and asks for more! We call it Kitty Krack in our house!

Should I consider a DHA supplement if I’m feeding this to my 7 month old kittens? They don’t want to eat anything else after trying your recipes!

Hello! Sardines are naturally high in DHA and EPA, which is great for kittens! However, we do recommend consulting in your vet before adding a supplement into your kittens diets!

The kitty boys get 2 cans once a day and it is apparently not enough. I am the subject of bullying night and day. The only relief I get is during the 5 mins it takes for them to eat their daily allowance. I appreciate the limited ingredients. My oldest has many food allergies. Love to see him enjoy something that wont harm him.

Hello! We recommend feeding 1-2 2.8 oz cans per 7 lb of body weight, and feed twice as much for kittens. For a 3 kg kitten (or 6.5 lb), we recommend feeding 2-4 2.8 oz cans a day.

    Two Rescues get the BEST

    RescuemamainNY

I rescued two brothers, less than two weeks ago. They didn’t have the best start, but I promised them I’d give them everything. They seem to really enjoy any food with fish. So I bought the Sardine cutlets and the Ahi Tuna canned food. I literally didn’t even get the top off the can when both boys jumped into my lap to try to get at the can! They devoured it within minutes. Needless to say, I’ll be buying it by the case!

I love Tiki Cat and it’s the only thing I feed my cats! They love it! I am worried about the gums in the sardine cutlets and mackerel, sardine, and calamari broth.

Hi! Glad to hear you love our foods! The gums in our foods are FDA approved and regarded as safe to consume. We use gums in these flavors because we are using whole cuts of sardines, and without gums they would fall apart. I hope this clarifies things!
