IT’S A MIRACLE..Still testing but it appears my IBD cat MAY be able to eat this with no problem. If so, it’s truly a miracle to find a canned food he can eat without a problem…so far, so good.

My 14 year old cat is diabetic and can only eat twice a day. I give her the canned wet food and she LOVES it!! My question is how much is a healthy serving for her if she’s eating twice a day? She weighs about 7.5 pounds. THANKS!

Has this product been replaced by Tiki Cat After Dark with Chicken plus liver, gizzard and heart? It is item 11255 in Canada. The calorie content is lower and the ingredient lists are slightly different in that chicken broth, and not chicken, appears as the first ingredient.

Admin Tiki Pets –
Yes this product has replaced that, however the overall formula has remained the same. We did make slight changes, like adding 10% more shredded chicken in our foods as well as making a few changes to the vitamins and minerals, but your cat should love it just the same as our old formula!

Nutritionally sound for kittens? (After Dark Variety) You hear conflicting info when cat food says, “for all life stages”. I feed this to my kittens for their first feeding and “kitten” food for their next two daily. By far they love Tiki the best.

Admin Tiki Pets –
Hello! Yes our food is made for all life stages and is fine to feed your kitten! However, feeding guidelines will be different when feeding to a kitten.

Love the ingredients. Cat loves it. It’s so hard to find in Canada, but when I do I buy as much as I can. Wish they would publicize their calcium:phosphrous ratios for CKD kitties.

Our feeding guidelines recommend three 2.8 oz cans per 7lb of weight. For a 14 lb cat, you would feed six 2.8 oz cans. Please know this is just a guideline, and your cats individual feeding amounts may vary based on their age, sex, and activity level.

Hello, how much of your 2.8 oz can should I feed my 7 months old (will be 8 months in October 4), 8.60 lb ragdoll ?
He is active with playing with his brother during morning and night time then sleeps throughout the afternoon.

We recommend three 2.8 oz cans per 7 lb for an adult cat. Since you have a kitten, we typically recommend doubling this amount, making that 6 cans a day for your kitten. Please contact us directly if you have any other questions!

How would you suggest transitioning a cat to this wet food from another wet food brand?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Admin Tiki Pets –
Hello! We recommend slowly introducing this food to your cat by mixing it in with their old food. When switching to a new dry or canned food, there is sometimes a short period of time where a dog may experience a change in stool quality until he adjusts. Here is a plan to ensure smooth transition: Day 1-75% current food & 25% new Tiki food, Day 3-50% current food & 50% Tiki food, Day 5-75% Tiki food and 25% current food, Day 7-100% Tiki food

I recently adopted an 8yr old cat from the shelter who had been on kibble her whole life. I switched her to beyond wet food but found that if was really high in fat vs protein. So I researched and liked tiki cats nutrition and ingredients. Gave her the luau and grill flavors. She took one sniff and walked away, barely ate half a serving both days but stuck with it in case it was just a texture or flavor thing. Gave her the after dark chicken. She ate the entire bowl in about an hour! So my advice is if you have a picky cat, don’t give up on tiki cats food if they don’t like it right away, try all of their formulas and different flavors before you call it quits. The nutrition in this food is too awesome not to keep trying.

Synthetic Vitamin K, aka menadione sodium bisulfate/menadione sodium bisulfite/menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfit has been known to cause toxicity over time and has been banned in human use. Why is this in your ingredient list?
(0) (0) Watch Unwatch
Admin Tiki Pets –
Hello, vitamin K is necessary for a complete and balanced cat food. Our formulas meet the nutritional standards established by National Research Council and AAFCO to ensure a feed has all known required nutrients in the proper amount and proportion based on a cat’s life stage. Supplementation of Vitamin K is necessary when you don’t have natural sources to meet the requirement. We would recommend speaking with your vet regarding Vitamin K and your cat’s specific dietary needs.

Our new kitten is allergic to grain. We did a search of all grain free food on the market to get all 4 of our cats to agree. Not only do they all agree on this brand and flavor but they barely look up from the bowl to breathe. Even our 15 year old cat is so much healthier. He was a chronic vomiter. No problems with this food. And they were all a little on the plump size. The vet is happy with their weight loss. We didn’t restrict the food. I just think the better quality of tiki cat has them less hungry. Some coupons would be great!!!
