Recommendations vary greatly, based on your cat’s age, activity level and life stage. For adult cats, feed approximately 2 pouches per day per 7 lbs. of body weight. For kittens, offer food several times a day, feed up to twice this amount.
Pregnant or nursing cats may require two to four times their normal feeding.
The amount to feed will vary based upon age, activity level, breed, size, and environment. Please use the feeding guidelines as an initial recommendation and adjust food amount as needed to maintain proper weight. Always provide access to clean, fresh water. Wet food should be changed at least twice daily in order to prevent spoilage.
Serve at room temperature, and refrigerate any unused portion.

Is the Velvet Mousse a nutritionally-complete meal? Or a supplement?
And could you tell me the Carb % and mg Phosphorus per 100 kcal? My cat is diabetic and stage 1 Kidney Disease, so I’m looking for a low-carb, low-phosphorus meal for my picky feline.

Hello! The Velvet Mousse Chicken is a complete and balanced diet for all life stages by AAFCO standards. The carbohydrates are 3% and phosphorus is 0.23% in a recent batch. Unfortunately, we do not have phosphorus available in mg/100 kcal. Please feel free to email mail@tikipets.com with any other questions. Thank you!

Why add egg to this flavor when there is already a chicken with egg flavor? Egg is an allergen. This food would be perfect if formulated without egg. There are so few options out there for cats with allergies. Please consider removing the egg.

Hi Tyra, the amount of egg added is different in each flavor. We will consider your feedback for future products and batches. Thank you!

I don’t know what magic is in this stuff, but you solved my finicky Bengal cat’s dining dilemma!!! JB is 2 years old and only likes smooth pate textures. He’ll
drink the liquid from a flaked or chunky option but leave the meat. I picked up a few of these pouches to see if he’d like the velvet mousse texture, and he practically licked the plate clean in one sitting. He’s still licking his chops! Will definitely buy again and try supplementing with his usual food when he’s being extra fussy.

My cats love these! Wish the pouch can in a larger size for a multi cat household. Due to the smaller size I use these for treats/ special occasions. Its more affordable to use other brands that have larger pouch sizes.

Glad your cats love our foods! Hopefully we can come out with some larger sized pouches in the future!

What is the difference between Chicken in Broth Velvet Mousse and Chicken and Egg in Broth Velvet Mousse. The 2 lists of ingredients are exactly the same.

Is the packaging recyclable in a municipal facility?

Admin Tiki Pets –
Hi! Our pouches are BPA NI but not recyclable. Each pouch consist of 4 layers of different material, PET, Aluminum, Nylon, CPP and laminated together. Each material on their own is recyclable but when they are bonded together the pouch is very difficult to separate, and therefore very difficult to recycle.

My kitty is 17 and was barely eating, only the gravy from other brands. I tried food processing it and still nope. She loves this stuff. She is getting more energy and gaining instead of losing.

Is the Tiki cat Velvet mousse safe for diabetic cats?

Admin Tiki Pets –
Hi! While we do have many customers that have diabetic cats that do well on our foods, please know that our foods are not a vet diet. We do recommend consulting in your vet to ensure that our foods meet your cats individual needs. That being said, all of our wet foods will have lower than 3% carbs in them, so they are a great option for a low carb diet! Please email us at mail@tikipets.com if you have any specific formula you would like the nutrient information of to help you make a decision!

My cat just went on a wet only diet due to having a full mouth extraction. He LOVES this

My cat is primarily a kibble eater but I try to supplement his diet with wet as well. He decided about 4 months ago he didn’t like pate. I tried several different brands with gravy or broth and he would drink the liquid and leave the meat. Out of desperation, I picked up a couple pouches of Velvet Mousse. It seems to be a hit…fingers crossed. He can lap it up and I know he’s getting the nutrition he needs. I purchased a variety pack to try different the different flavors. I deducted a star only because I personally am not a fan of the pouch, but this is my first experience with it. Hopefully I’ll get used to it.

Hi i have 5 months old kittens and i see that your food offers all life stages and i cant seem to find anyone who does feed the “all life stages” for their kittens , but they love tiki cat and the variety of flavor , i do however offer the tiki kitten as well but do you think it would cause them digestion issues in the future ?

I’ve been feeding the velvet tuna and mackerel to my cat for months. But I’ve started noticing this weird “dry” spot in the food. It looks like a flat, quarter-sized section of food. What is it?

Admin Tiki Pets –
Hi, this is due to the cooking process and is perfectly safe for your kitty to eat. Email us at mail@tikipets.com if you have any other questions!

my brown tabby is petite, so a large tablespoon twice daily along with kibble is ideal, but how many days will the pouch stay fresh in the fridge, i.e. chicken, tuna and chicken, salmon – the velvet mousse pouches?

My sweet Mango just has to have all of her teeth removed. This product is SO perfect for her! Her appetite has been so diminished, so finding this was a godsend. Her appetite isn’t back to full strength yet but we’re at least in the right track now. Also, please don’t discontinue the kitten formula. It’s her favorite. This kid loves chicken liver flavor.

My cat had nasal polyp surgery and still can’t breathe right, so she won’t eat her dry food 🙁 we went to the pet store and discovered your mousse. We have been feeding her through syringes now! 50 syringes a day! Yes…tons of work but it’s the only way she will eat!! She loves the mousse!! And it goes in the syringes so well! Makes my life soooo much easier! I wish we were able to get a case if the chicken mousse instead of always having to get individual packs because it’d be cheaper but that’s ok, our cat is eating which is what matters.
Thank you for creating the mousse, you made our lives so much easier!! ❤️
